Global Aid Direct Volunteers Program is about helping people make their lives better in the longer term, addressing the deeper issues that can impede human development. All around the world, Global Aid Direct Volunteers help people to live more productive, fulfilling and creative lives through quality education and improved healthcare, or by ensuring equitable access to resources and sustainable practices.

Volunteering makes important economic and social contributions, contributing to a more cohesive society by building trust and reciprocity among citizens. It can be both challenging and rewarding and require you to use your skills in a new context. You can also transfer useful knowledge while gaining a greater understanding of the issues affecting other people.

Global Aid Direct is enthused by the belief that volunteering is a powerful means of engaging people in tackling development challenges worldwide. Everyone can contribute their time, skills and knowledge through volunteer action and their combined efforts can be a significant force for achieving peace and development.

Global Aid Direct Volunteers Program distinguishes, by and large, between Global Aid Direct missions in development environments on the one hand and in crisis settings on the other. This is so because while development work is geared more towards bringing about longer-term, sustainable human development by addressing underlying socio-economic factors, interventions in post-conflict environments typically address short-term, early recovery emergency needs. While the reality is less black-and-white than this somewhat theoretical distinction, it nevertheless has practical merit.
