Internship With Global Aid Direct

Global Aid Direct is supportive of internships as an important experiential learning process. The organization believes internships function as a link between university learning and a life career. To achieve this goal, Global Aid Direct has developed this internship program. The Global Aid Direct program hopes to link learning and life through an internship with the organization.

The purpose of the Global Aid Direct internship program is threefold: (a) to provide a framework by which undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students from diverse academic backgrounds may be assigned to Global Aid Direct offices, where their educational experience can be enhanced through practical work assignments; (b) to expose them to the work of the Global Aid Direct; and (c) to provide Global Aid Direct offices with the assistance of qualified students specialized in various professional fields. Specific arrangements for internship programs at each field office shall be announced through information circular and on the organization’s website under internship Jobs posting.

Global Aid Direct internship program is about helping people make their lives better in the longer term, addressing the deeper issues that can impede human development. All around the world, Global Aid Direct interns help people to live more productive, fulfilling and creative lives through quality education and improved healthcare, or by ensuring equitable access to resources and sustainable practices.

Global Aid Direct interns make important economic and social contributions, contributing to a more cohesive society by building trust and reciprocity among citizens. It can be both challenging and rewarding and require you to use your skills in a new context. You can also transfer useful knowledge while gaining a greater understanding of the issues affecting other people.

Global Aid Direct internship program includes delivery of basic social services, disaster prevention and recovery. The work of Global Aid Direct interns consist of improving basic social services by developing the capacity of local, institutional and national authorities to deliver services; and developing the capacity of communities themselves to make best use of these services.

They also improve accountability, and build participation so that the people who benefit from them are included in the planning and provision of social services; strengthen local governance by promoting inclusive participation of citizens in local development cycles, and promote access to basic services.

Financial Assistance

Global Aid Direct does not pay for internships. The costs associated with the latter must be borne by the nominating institution, related institution or government, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students; or by the student, who will have to obtain financing for subsistence and make his or her own arrangements for travel, accommodation etc.
