A Message from Global Aid Direct President & CEO, Chester Sworr

As President and CEO of GLAID, kindly accept my warmest greetings and best wishes on behalf of the staff, volunteers, and board members, of one of the world’s leading charitable organizations combating poverty. Global Aid Direct is a U.S. based nonprofit organization helping to bring a sense of normalcy to crisis and non-crisis situation by empowering millions of people in poor communities worldwide.

GLAID programs help people fleeing racial, religious and ethnic persecution, as well as those who are victimized by war, violence, civil unrest and natural disasters such as earthquake, flood, tornado, drought, hurricane, etc. The organization provides recreation scholarships to summer and after- school programs for youth, home maintenance assistance for the elderly, AIDS education, and other programs for community improvement; and promote sustainable development through human settlement, water and sanitation, health, agriculture, education, and environmental initiatives.

It is based on this that GLAID is committed to reducing, and eventually ending, extreme poverty. We know the importance of combating the fundamental causes of poverty so that our work will have a lasting impact. Children, Women and the Elderly, in poor communities around the world are at the center of GLAID's efforts to improve health, education, human settlement, and economic opportunity. GLAID is also committed to providing lifesaving assistance during times of crisis, and helping rebuild safer, stronger communities afterward.

With the generous support of people like you, GLAID will be able to help many families and individuals not only to meet essential daily needs, but help people in poor communities expand opportunity for themselves and their children and work with them to fight issues such as social elimination, gender inequity, and poor governance that keep them deep-rooted in poverty. They will also work toward a brighter future with programs in job training, education, counseling, elderly assistance, and temporary housing.
